BIO

Jhaya grew up on a ranch in Arizona, where nature was an integral part of daily life. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Jhaya pursued her two passions; art and horseback riding. Although she won many national titles as an equestrian, ultimately, she dedicated herself soley to creating art. In 1999, she moved to California to study figurative sculpture and animation at the Laguna College of Art and Design. Upon graduating, she was offered a position teaching art in England, where she lived for two years, working both as an art teacher and pursuing her own fine art practice. It was during this time that Jhaya met, and began working as the assistant to the internationally renowned equine sculptor, Philip Blacker, sculpting famous racehorses such as Best Mate alongside him. Jhaya enjoyed England, but ultimately decided to move back to the USA with her husband, Adam, a filmmaker and photographer, (www.adamwarmington.com). Jhaya continues to exhibit her sculptures both in the USA and the UK, and currently lives in San Francisco.
